"Maybe because I won't need protecting!" Damien hissed back, carefully keeping his voice down and out of site to the others. At this point he recognized that despite Spencer's insolence, he was respectful before people. It gave Damien the image of control, which was marginally tolerable.

"I'm going to be driving, in my car, looking for some fresh air. No one is doing me any harm from that." Damien wasn't budging, but he experienced Spencer's stubbornness enough times to know this might not be an easy argument to win. One good thing about Spencer though, the man took his safety very seriously. This worked against him this time.
